Maybe you have a favorite local New York style pizza parler that charges $15.99 for the medium 14 inch or $18.99 for the large 16 inch. Is that extra $3 worth the money for only 2 extra inches in diameter? Spoiler alert - it's worth it! If you're good at math, you know that the area of a circle is pi times radius squared. Divide that by the price of the pizza and you get the cost per square inch. Pretty simple, but who wants to do that math everytime? No me.
